International FMCG sourcing & export

International FMCG Export

K.Distribution helps importers, distributors, wholesalers and retail groups source branded FMCG products across multiple categories through consolidated wholesale and international export shipments.

Instead of managing separate orders, minimums and logistics with numerous suppliers, professional buyers can build a broader assortment through one commercial inquiry.

The procurement problem

Why International FMCG Sourcing Is Different

An importer supplying a market usually needs range — packaged food, beverages, confectionery, personal care, home care, baby care. Sourcing that range directly means a separate commercial process for each manufacturer, and the minimums rarely line up with what a single market actually sells.

Direct multi-supplier purchasing

Five brands, five processes

  • A separate commercial relationship per manufacturer
  • A minimum order quantity set independently by each
  • A separate quotation, and separate negotiation, for each
  • Different lead times that rarely align
  • Different payment terms to agree and track
  • Different collection points, so freight is arranged more than once

Consolidated wholesale sourcing

Many brands, one commercial process

  • One commercial contact and one quotation
  • Quantities set per line rather than per supplier relationship
  • One assortment planned as a single load
  • One shipment, one set of documents, one arrival
  • Freight assessed against the finished load, not per supplier

Consolidation simplifies the commercial process. It does not replace an approval or authorisation where a manufacturer or a destination genuinely requires one.

    Consolidation

Consolidate Products Across Brands & Categories

Where commercially feasible, products from different brands and categories can be consolidated into mixed pallet or mixed container shipments — helping buyers assemble broader assortments without requiring full loads of every individual SKU.

    1. Selected products

Food, beverages, personal care, home care

    2. Consolidation

      Planned as one load

    3. Mixed pallet or container

      20ft, 40ft or 40HC

    4. Destination market

      One shipment, one quotation

    Load planning

Shipment Planning Based on Volume, Weight & Product Mix

An assortment is planned against the container format and the route before it is quoted. Three things decide what actually fits.

    • Volume

Carton footprint and height decide how many fit a pallet layer, and how many layers a pallet takes.

    • Weight

Gross cargo weight against the container limit. Dense lines reach it while space remains.

    • Compatibility

What can travel together, what must be planned low in the load, and what should be kept apart.

    Container formats

    • 20ftDense assortments that reach the weight limit early.
    • 40ftThe common choice for a broad mixed assortment.
    • 40ft HCLight, bulky lines where extra height becomes more cartons.

How much a container actually holds depends on the assortment, so it is planned against your list rather than quoted from a table.

    Selection

Build an Assortment for Your Market

What sells in one market does not automatically sell in the next, and the difference is rarely just the product. Pack size, origin, labelling and shelf life all bear on whether a line works for a given channel and destination.

You know your market better than we do. Buyers can submit their target assortment and destination for quotation review, and we will confirm what is available and how it would ship.

    • Consumer demand in your channel
    • Pack size and format
    • Retail channel and shelf presentation
    • Product origin, where it affects duty or acceptance
    • Packaging language and labelling
    • Remaining shelf life on arrival
    • Destination import requirements
    • Target price level and freight economics

    Sourcing

    Multi-Origin FMCG Sourcing

K.Distribution is based in France. The products themselves may originate from France, other EU countries, Vietnam, Thailand and other sourcing markets. Origin is SKU-specific and is never inferred from where we ship from.

Company location ≠ product originGoods exported from France are not thereby of French origin, and destination duty treatment usually depends on where a product was actually made.

    How product origin works

    Paperwork

    Documentation for International Shipments

What a shipment needs varies by product, country of origin, destination, Incoterm and transport mode. Nothing is issued automatically on every shipment.

    • Commercial invoice
    • Packing list
    • Transport document
    • Certificate of origin where applicable
    • Product-specific documents where applicable

    View export documentation

    Destination Requirements Vary by Market

Import rules, labelling requirements, product registrations, permits and customs procedures differ between destinations and may change over time. K.Distribution can provide relevant commercial and export documentation where available, while buyers remain responsible for confirming destination-specific import eligibility and regulatory requirements.
